Liquid Spills
As they say, To Err is Human, accidents may happen anytime, especially with your notebooks as they are such an integral part of our lives and most of us carry it along almost everywhere. What adds to such an unfortunate situation is not having any warranty from the manufacturer to minimize your losses.
However, we suggest a few steps you should take immediately in such cases to avoid total damage of your notebook.
- Turn the system off immediately. Press and hold the power button to turn off system is system is not responding, disconnect the battery and power cable.
- Absorb the excessive liquid with a soft cloth. Don’t wipe, that will spread the liquid around.
- Disconnect any cables, devices, removable bays, and external Network Cards.
- Absorb any liquid from the CD/DVD drives.
- Do not try to remove any casing from the system as it may void the warranty, if any. You may also damage any internal parts by doing this.
- Gently tilt the laptop from side to side to allow the liquid to drain out. Do not shake the laptop.
- Place the system upside down, for the excess liquid to drain out.
- Blow carefully with the coolest setting, paying attention to the keyboard and the parts you removed. Keep the dryer at a distance from all the parts and system while drying.
- Follow this for minimum one hour then leave the laptop to dry for at least 24 hours.
- After 24 hours, reattach the components and cables to start up the laptop. If it does not show any error or start-up problems, then run some programs and try using the external media.
- If the laptop fails to start properly or there is no power to the system, and unfortunately the system warranty is expired, its time you need us.
Relax and be assured that your laptop is in the best of hands. You can trust us in getting your system back up and running. We can strip down the system to undersized components and clean it to have the system up & running, mostly without needing any parts replacement.
